Literature Text

As a statue I must stand.
On this barren land to die.
All around the times own sand.
With stone carved tears I cry.

The wind and age do crack my shell.
And birds do leave their comments there.
An old pond at my feet where I dwell.
The ages pass with little more then care.

With time I brake with age I fade.
To death and past I stair with care.
Chisel on stone in blood I paid.
To move in the sun I only dare.

Ages pass as I sit and crumble.
But sadly I shall never stumble.
